THE TEAM

The 2009 Canadian National Junior Dragon Boat Team is a collection of 65 highly motivated young men and women. They are between the ages of 13 and 18, and are working together towards one common goal the 2009 World Dragon Boat Championships in Prague, Czech Republic.

A COMMITMENT TO BE THE BEST

To become the best in the world takes a great deal of hard work and mental determination. The members of the Canadian Junior Dragon Boat Team have not shied away from the sacrifice it takes to realize their dreams. Training for team members is a year-round commitment. Developing into a world-class dragon boater requires strength training, running, swimming, pool paddling, indoor rowing, yoga and circuit training. It also involves spending hundreds of hours in the dragon boat so that paddlers can perfect their technique and increase endurance.
