Welcome to Junior Dragon Boat News |
|
This site is intended as a resource for the junior paddler, but may be of interest to enthusiasts in general. Here in Canada, the sport is expanding rapidly. Southern Ontario has a growing list of dragon boat clubs and crews. Big festivals draw hundreds of boats and thousands of paddlers. Check out the schedule on our festival calendar.
Even William and Kate paddled on their visit to Canada!!!
This site is endorsed by the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) which has membership in the General Association of International Sports Associations. Please take a moment to watch this film which was done on site. [The IDBF is a bit on the clueless side - their lame-ass web site is perpetually under construction. Currently, it directs you to the European Dragonboat Federation site. It reminds me of the Sixties when people would try to run businesses out of the back of their cars. Savvy people can now build a useful information site and take it Live in a week! The IDBF is completely out of touch.]
The World is gearing up for the 2012 IDBF Club Crew Chamionships in Hong Kong. The event runs from July 4th - 8th.
Previous years - (Sorry, there are no links - most of the sites have been hijacked or hacked):

- The 2006 Club Crew World Championships were held in Toronto, Canada . The city, with help from the Province of Ontario and the Canadian government, constructed a beautiful water course for the occasion.
- The 2005 IDBF World Championships attracted crews and fans from all over the world. JRDB salutes the participants!
